India has been spending a generous 40% of budget on capital acquisitions out of which the 60% of requirements in the defence procurements are met by imports. INR 250 Billion are envisaged to be invested in coming 5-8 years to make India a manufacturing hub for defence procurement and to encourage the simultaneous research and development to maintain the edge over the global counterparts.
